Coleman/Franken to Run Again
Due to the protracted nature of the contention of the last election results, both campaigns have agreed to decide the outcome of the last election with the outcome of the next election in 2010. Sources close to both camps indicate they have decided litigation concerning the 2008 election could last until 2012. So rather than prolong the agony, Norm Coleman and Al Franken will run again in 2010. According to the Governor's office, the citizens of Minnesota have noticed very little difference between having two Senators represent them and having one Senator represent them . So rather than appoint a temporary Senator, Governor Tim Pawlenty has decided to let Senator Amy Klobuchar do the work of two Senators (a part time job). The Governor also pointed out the benefit to the Federal Treasury not having to borrow the money to pay two senatorial salaries and suggested the savings be used to build a bridge somewhere.
