Twins win #163 and the AL Central Division!

Joe Mauer, the probable American League MVP

Yesterday afternoon I tuned into the Twins/Tigers game very confident of a victory. Five hours later I felt I had watched the Ali/Frazier fight. What a game! It was 12 innings of punch/counter punch. Every half inning had drama and unbelievable plays. One team would make a mistake and the other team would take advantage of it. Then the player making the mistake would make some sort of unbelievable play to save the day. The heroes of the game were the little guys coming off the bench. The Twins used relief pitchers I had never heard of. It was baseball at its best! I finally fell asleep around 2 am.

Just as an aside, Joe Mauer, the Twins catcher, will win the AL Batting title and probably be named the AL MVP. I also predict Ron Gardenhire will be named the AL Coach of the Year.

Tonight the Yankees. What can I say?

Go Twins!

I watched the tail end of game with tied score-saw the Tigers left fielder with the gun arm throw out the Twins winning run from 3rd - what a game! And yet I still managed to fall asleep at bottom of 12th and miss it! Also fell asleep in 4th Qtr of Packers-Viking game. Worthless....
