No excuses, man. Yes, there have been other outbursts before. But this is really scary. If I had been that line judge, I would have run too. She should be prosecuted, or at the minimum, lose her winnings for the tournament. Physical threats are over the line.
She's been raked over the coals from most of the commentary I've seen. Not sure I'm following the connection with Obama on this other than another black person saying what she did is acceptable.
Maybe I should have been a little more specific. Williams received all sorts of support out there in the black blogosphere for her actions. As I'm sure Kanye West did for his outlandishness on the Music Video Awards. Color is very important - to the blacks. And since Obama's election, they don't hesitate to express it. One can't help but wonder if Williams or West would've shown their rage in such a manner had their victims been black.
