How can this be?

PIPESTONE, Minn. - A wind power company in southwestern Minnesota has announced it will eliminate 70 jobs this summer with another 90 layoffs possible by the end of September.

According to a letter sent to city officials, Suzlon will make the first round of layoffs at the Pipestone turbine blade plant by Aug. 2. Another 90 job losses will likely be added to that tally.

A year ago, employment at the plant had swelled to 500.

A shortage of rental housing and workers in Pipestone forced Suzlon to bus in employees from Worthington, Minn., and Sioux Falls, S.D., at a cost of nearly $50,000 a month.

Pipestone Mayor Laurie Ness says the news is "crushing blow" to the city.

The community had 200 layoffs last year when boat manufacturer U.S. Marine closed its plant in October.

Ness says city officials will meet Monday with the local economic development authority to discuss how to assist laid-off workers.

India-based Suzlon manufactures wind turbines and has a presence in 21 countries.

But wait, I thought Owebama was "investing" in clean energy. So, if an Indian company is manufacturing in the USA would that be called "insourcing"? I wonder if the tax climate under the Owebama Administration has anything to do with the layoffs. . . Nah, that couldn't be it.

Unless you are on welfare or you are a Marxist, you would be an idiot to have believed obama could have done more for you than a conservative free market. I hope you are being sarcastic but there are so many stupid Americans who thought he was the messiah. We are in trouble.

Me? Sarcastic? Never! You are absolutely right, EWO. We are in trouble.

It will be spun as "Obama saves jobs by making sure fewer people are laid off than anticipated and cleans up the environment at the same time."
