Good Riddance

Specter threatens Biden with the back of his hand if Joe tries to kiss him one more time.

Great news! Another RINO bites the dust. This is a perfect example of the ground swell of resentment the Obama Administration has created at the grass roots level in this country. Why did Arlen Specter decide to switch parties after as recently as March 17th stating he would NEVER switch parties in order to preserve the 2-party system? He switched because he was 20+ points down in the Republican primary in Pennsylvania. Why was he 20+ points down? Because he's not a conservative. Not even close. What's happening is the Republican party is starting to cull out those who say one thing to get elected, then do something totally different in office. This is a perfect example of what's wrong in Washington. Arlen Specter was merely performing his most important job- to get reelected, not represent the viewpoints of his contingency. As far as I'm concerned, I would love to see all the Northeast RINOs switch parties. Sure, that would give the libs a great opportunity to totally control the government, but that's okay. A similar situation in the Carter years led to the Reagan Revolution. It will happen again. Socialism has never worked and it never will. Good luck winning the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania, Mr. Specter. I think even Democrats will see your "primary" reason for switching.

Specter will be dead before the next election anyway.

As Senator DeMint(SC) says, he would rather have 30 "pure" Republicans than 60 with moderates like Specter mixed in. I agree with him 100%...let's even take it down to 20-25. I like this kind of thinking....it is a forward looking view like this that will continue to assure a "pure" white, southern, men over 50, Republican party for the next hundred years! Party on!

You obviously didn't see the hundreds of thousands who comprised the attendees at the Tea Parties. Oh, that's right. CNN and MSNBC didn't cover those events.
Like you say, party on! I'm still waiting for the left to "fix" things. Right now they're just stomping on the pieces. Obama is the best thing that ever happened to the conservative movement in America.

Half of those waving the tea bags didn't even know the roots of their "protest". FOX set it up and they showed up like lemmings. Even if they were told, most wouldn't be smart enough to see the disconnect between their protests and what the Boston Tea party was all about-"taxation without representation." The tea baggers today all have legal, democratic elected representation. The problem is, their guys all lost and they don't like what the knew guy is doing-so if they are advocating the overthrow of a legal government, that is a whole different story and then they are traitors. Elections have consequences. Waving a stupid tea bag is not a good way to start the rebuilding of a once great Party

I just don't know if this can get much better. Priceless(from politico.com):

Republicans are taking a page out of the Democrats’ tried-and-tested playbook: They’re trying to dent Sen. Arlen Specter’s popularity among Democrats in Pennsylvania by tying him to former President Bush.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is launching about 100,000 robo-calls to registered Democrats in Pennsylvania, reminding voters of Specter’s relationship with the former president.

“I’ve recorded this message…to help you welcome your newest Republican senator, Arlen Specter,” a narrator on the call says. “We wanted to make sure that we properly introduced him to you.”

The phone call then features audio from Bush’s endorsement of Specter during his competitive 2004 GOP primary against Toomey.

“I’m here to say it as plainly as I can, Arlen Specter is the right man for the United States Senate,” Bush says in the robo-call. "I can count on this man -- see that's important. He's a firm ally when it matters most."

This, to my knowledge, is the first time Republicans have invoked former President Bush to engender a negative reaction. But since it worked so well for Democrats in 2006 and 2008, why not give it a try?

I loved Biden's comments that he encouraged his family to not get on a subway or airplane because of the swine flue. How's that for calming the public about the outbreak?

Want to talk about ignorant voters? Check the facts about Obama voters' understanding of the issues and the facts. Talk to any tea bagger. If anyone understands what the Boston Tea Party was about, it's conservatives. However, THIS revolt is about the socialism of our government. There was actually very little "waving of stupid tea bags". But there were a helluva lot of sign waving and speech making. And speaking of idiots, Specter committed political suicide. Why would a democrat vote for him when there are pure democrats out there who will run against him?
