Taking it to the left

As you're probably aware, "The Daily Kos" is a prominent left wing blog. I decided to take my opinions, wit, and sarcasm right at them (ala Vance, who's comments I always look forward to on this blog). I have found my comments last about a minute or two, then "poof" they disappear! So then I made a comment (all in caps, I might add), about my comments disappearing. I received a reply, from "big brother", informing me that conservative "talking points" (in this case, FACTS!) were not welcome on the "kos" and neither were conservatives. "They" went on to remind me there were plenty of conservative blogs where I was free to engage in my "fantasies". Can you believe it?! I can. They have not kicked me off yet, but I do look forward to the day.

I'm officially off. Amazing. I was sworn at, verbally spat at with language you can't imagine and yet my simple, polite, sarcastic rendition of the FACTS was too much for these people. THAT is scary.

How boring is that? Participating in a blog where everyone thinks the same and there are no challenges. Even Rush moves liberal callers to the front. Keep fighting the fight Rick!

you should have read the FAQ

"Some posters create accounts at dkos strictly for the purpose of causing disruption. It is considered acceptable to hide all of the posts made by such people, even the ones that are not in and of themselves trollish. It should be emphasized, however, that this should not be done lightly. Before rating comments en-masse, you should be very very sure that the author is really a troll, and not just a regular poster who is having a bad day. If there is any shadow of a doubt as to whether a person is a dedicated troll, you should refrain from mass-hiding their comments."

If this is polite I don't know who raised you

" * [new] I'll tell you why. (0+ / 10-)
[Pelosi's] an idiot. And so is Barney Frank. By the way, how is the gay brothel business going for Barney these days? . . .

Hey Juan! Thanks for posting on my blog. YOU are welcome anytime. I just ask that you keep the language clean, which is something that is not the case on "dkos" in light of some of the comments made to my comments (which disappeared suddenly). Also, that's cool you had access to MY comments. I didn't. I probably shouldn't have called Pelosi and Frank idiots. They're just totally incompetent. Is that more polite?

Actually I think the community found the "gay brothel" bit offensive.

Also compare the definition of Sarcasm

"1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual"

to that of

Politeness

"1 a: of, relating to, or having the characteristics of advanced culture b: marked by refined cultural interests and pursuits especially in arts and belles lettres
2 a: showing or characterized by correct social usage b: marked by an appearance of consideration, tact, deference, or courtesy c: marked by a lack of roughness or crudities"

Hidden vs. Deleted comments
Occasionally, a comment disappears from view and there is some dispute (usually from the comment author) as to the fate of that comment. The following text is provided as a reference to use in such disputes:

Comments are not deleted. If you think your comment has been deleted, you are wrong. If you really really think your comment has been deleted, you are wrong. Yes, really. Your comment has been hidden, but Trusted Users can still see it, and have the option to un-hide it. Your comment is unlikely to be unhidden (trust us on this one).

Here's hoping you can evolve and emerge from under your bridge.

As Michelle Bachmann said a few weeks ago, "You da Man"(Juan), You da man"!! Ah yes, Miss Diversity as personified by our resident Minnesota intellectually challenged Congresswoman in her remarks to Michael Steele. Notice how I did not use the word moron, or comment on her looks(as per Rush Limbaugh directed at Chelsea Clinton or Laura Ingram going after McCain's daughter and her "plus size'). I'm not a regular DKos reader, but, man, looks like these guys, go after you if you cross "their" line!! Guess I better stick to baiting the guys over at Powerline every once in awhile!!

Juan, I'm sure they did find the "gay brothel" thing a bit offensive. I certainly find it offensive the guy is still in office despite being tied to something like that. Had BF been anything besides a Democrat, he would have been run out of town. But he's gay, from Massachusetts, and a lot of subprimers owe him a lot.

One other thing, Juan, cool it on the definitions. I know you find it hard to believe, but we conservatives know the meanings of words. Especially words like "is", "strong", "sound". You know, words like that.

With the definitions I was trying to note that sarcasm and politeness are mutually exclusive. And no reputable news source has taken that story seriously.
