A Great Example of Bipartisanship

Amazing. The Democrats and Republicans came together and defeated the Wall Street Bailout bill. It's the first piece of controversial legislation they've cooperated on in modern history. Of course it may mean the end of our economic system as we know it, but at least both parties can take the blame. That's saying something. This Pelosi-led Congress is definitely something all nine percent of us can be proud of.

I blame it all on that damn Speaker Pelosi(hhmm-60% yes vote for Dems) and the speech she gave right before the vote. It was way over the top in blaming the Republican's and their "take the refs off the field" economic policy put in place by the Bush administration. John Boehner is right- she hurt their feelings and FORCED them to vote against what was good for the country as a whole. They had no choice but to vote the way they did....sometimes politics(getting re-elected) and personal animosity are more important than the greater good.

What's a few more days of debate going to hurt? It's an election year and both sides are playing the game and neither care about us idiots who elected them.

Pelosi's speech wasn't the cause of the no vote, but it was a really stupid thing to do. If the Democrats want to pass a bill, then Pelosi should use her substantial leadership abilities to get all those Democrats that voted against to vote for it.
