A symbol of the Vikings season this year.

During this snowstorm on Saturday, I was saying to Debbie and Clay I've never seen a snowstorm like this in my 31 years of living in Minnesota. The media was saying afterwards that it was the 5th worst storm in Minnesota history. What they don't highlight is the amount of snow that fell in such a short period of time - 18 inches in 20 hours! That's never happened before - thus the collapse of the dome. I have a feeling we've seen the last game played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Vikings have been pushing hard for a new stadium and if they don't get one soon, I think in the near future they'll be called the Los Angeles Vikings. Should be interesting . . .

misspelled a word in the previous post...hate it when that happens.

So they just leave the cameras on in there all the time or were they anticipating the collapse? (of the dome that is - not the Vikings)

Time for a trip to Florida....
although the low tonight will be in the high twenties...

From what I understand, FOX NFL has cameras pre-positioned in all of the NFL stadiums during the season for the broadcasts. That's why they have exclusive rights to the video. Although I was surprised they leave them on all night. The collapse happened around 4-5am. I'm not so sure I'd want to attend a game in that stadium after watching the roof rip like that. It could probably do the same with a downpour.

That's what happens when you mess with the way football was intended to be played. Outside - in the frozen tundra...Purple People Eaters, etc.

I figured it was security cameras, but it was definitely a cool shot! Can you imagine if a game was going on - or guys were on the dome shoveling the snow off at the time. What a ride...
