Not getting it.

Mr. Anh Cao, a freshman from New Orleans, the one "Republican" who voted for the Pelosi/Obama healthcare bill, was elected last year in an upset victory over Representative William J. Jefferson, a Democrat who was under indictment on federal corruption charges at the time and has since been convicted. (Mr. Cao’s name is pronounced g-OW).

“Tonight, I voted to keep taxpayer dollars from funding abortion and to deliver access to affordable health care to the people of Louisiana,” Mr. Cao said in a statement posted on his Web site.

“I read the versions of the House bill. I listened to the countless stories of Orleans and Jefferson Parish citizens whose health care costs are exploding — if they are able to obtain health care at all. Louisianans needs real options for primary care, for mental health care, and for expanded health care for seniors and children.”

What can I say? It's "I depend on the US government" New Orleans - the epitome of what the Democrats want for our country.

I'm confused. He voted against dollars being used for funding abortion but for the health care bill?

One of the good things about this healthcare bill is that the blue dog dems held out to get abortion banned from federal funding. That's what the good Representative from New Orleans was hoping for and that's what they ended up getting. Apparently he saw nothing else he disliked (like generational theft, higher taxes and job losses). Oh well . . . the guy's got multiple degrees and not an ounce of common sense.
