The Last Leap of Summer

Clay's birthday signifies the beginning of summer. My birthday signifies the end. This weekend Clay and I were once again the guests of my friend, Debbie's, family at their cabin on Lake St.Croix in northwestern Wisconsin. We both made the leap from their pontoon boat into the cold lake water. It was "refreshing", to say the least. I think I'm safe in saying there will be no more leaps this summer.

Summer is a wonderful time in the north country and when my birthday rolls around I always have mixed feelings. I'm glad I made it this far, but I'm sad to see the summer end, especially when I think of the weather to come. It's been a summer filled with wonderful memories. I hate to see it end, but look forward to future changes.
