Not in a million years . . .

did I think I'd EVER see this photo. THIS is the big news in Minnesota and Wisconsin. To heck with healthcare, cap and trade, and the collapse of our economy, Brett Favre has come to Minnesota! Although Green Bay has been our "crosstown" rival since the beginning of football, I was always a Favre fan, in a fearful sort of way. When Green Bay and Minnesota play, anything could happen, especially with Favre at the Green Bay helm. The comebacks he managed were legendary. It was as if the entire team was on his back. At his press conference last night he was asked if his coming to Minnesota was "a revenge thing". He said it was not. Favre said it was simply that he wanted to continue to play and the Green Bay organization had other plans. So he played last year and now this year for teams who felt they had a need for his skills. Speaking of skills, it was pointed out on local sports talk radio that in 18+ years in the league, Favre has completed more passes to Vikings players than Tavaris Jackson, the starting quarterback for the Vikings the past 3 years. ;-) It's going to be a football season like none I've ever seen in 30 years of being a Viking fan. I can't wait. Stay tuned.

Packer fans probably have the same feeling Kentucky fans had when Pitino was introduced as UofL head coach.

That's a funny stat. Hey, he may yet still change his mind and not show up.

When he was late for his initial news conference, the ESPN commentators said either the Vikings had a heckuva buffet going backstage or maybe Favre had retired again.
