Let the outsourcing begin.

Rush Limbaugh to NY: Drop Dead

Monday, March 30, 2009 10:34 PM

Angered by a New York state plan to tax residents earning over $500,000 per year, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh vowed Monday to sell all of his property and shut down his operations there and move them to Texas, a state with no income tax.

The new plan, which is expected to be voted on Tuesday, would raise about $4 billion a year, said Dan Weiller, spokesman for New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Lawmakers are calling it a temporary tax increase but Rush was having none of that.

“When I am there working I pay whatever, you know, my rate is based on income for that day in New York,” Limbaugh said. “And I try to go as little as possible. If it weren't for hurricanes down here (his regular studio in Florida), I would never go up there.

“So I'll tell you what I'm going to do,” Limbaugh continued. “I'm going to look for an alternative studio somewhere outside New York, perhaps Texas -- another no-income-tax state -- and I'm going to get the hell over there, when a hurricane starts coming our way, 'cause I told Mayor Bloomberg: I'll be the first to lead the way. “

He plans to sell all of his property in New York City, he told listeners.

“I'll sell my apartment. I'll sell my condominium. I'm going to get out of there totally, 'cause this is just absurd, and it's ridiculous -- and it isn't going to work,” Limbaugh said. “It's punishing the achievers for the mistakes and the lack of discipline on the part of a bunch of corrupt politicians that have run that city and state into the ground for I don't know how many years -- and I, for one, am not going to take the blame for it. “

Limbaugh, who usually broadcasts from his home in Florida, another state with no income tax, said the new tax is likely not only to drive other high earners like himself from New York, but prompt those remaining to work less. Pointing out that the state already collects taxes on cigarettes and liquor, in addition to billions in lottery proceeds – oh, and don’t forget billions more in federal stimulus dollars – Limbaugh asked Gov. David Paterson when would it ever be enough.

He even suggested a new state slogan: “New York: It’s Never Enough.”

“When you raise taxes on an activity, you reduce that activity,” Limbaugh explained to his listeners. “People start doing that activity less. In this case: working. When you reduce taxes on an activity, then that activity increases. When you reduce taxes on income, people start working harder to earn more. Governor Paterson needs to cut taxes on people. He needs to spur investment. He needs to get people going and working. It's just the exact opposite. Governor Paterson is like most other liberal Democrats: zero-sum game. The economy is a pie. It never grows. Somebody gets their slice; somebody gets their slice.”

He's just doing what thousands of other companies do when they're overtaxed. Maybe eventually, NY will get it but I doubt it.

Rush is such a classy, upstanding guy:

" Wow. Whatever bet L.A. Times columnist Andrew Klavan thought he was making by daring people to listen to Rush Limbaugh and find one instance of the talk radio host saying a "single racist, hateful or stupid word" was lost today in dramatic fashion.

Limbaugh went waaaaaay over the top in insulting Gordon Brown with a mental image that one must work at to un-think about, warning that if the British Prime Minister keeps "slobbering" over President Barack Obama, he'll "come down with anal poisoning and may die from it."

And then we have Glen Beck who is literally freaking out over the Obama Presidency(check out the link below to The Colbert Report's take on Glenn-hilarious). Don't forget Michelle Bachmnan and her call to Minnesotans to "become armed and dangerous" for the upcoming revolution. With conservative wingnut mouthpieces like these, the next 20 years are looking pretty good for the Dems.

And more...

"As the country circles the drain from years of financial gluttony and neglect, here's a snapshot of how leaders on the other side of the political fence are stepping up to the plate to help save America:

Party leader Joe the Plumber doesn’t like the Employee Free Choice Act but he doesn’t feel like explaining why. Mainly because he hasn't bothered to read it. He's a busy boy, you see, and it's very time-consuming to travel around the country explaining why he doesn’t like things he doesn’t know anything about.

Party leader Sarah Palin was invited and then uninvited to be the headliner at a national GOP dinner and was replaced by Newt Gingrich. Even though the Alaska governor claimed it was an innocent communication error, organizers refused to re-invite her because, of course, they only have two more months until the event and have already moved on to the blowing-up-balloons stage. But at least now Palin can devote more time to not accepting federal funds for wasteful things like schools and help for the unemployed.

Party leader Rush Limbaugh is using the flooding in North Dakota to make "dyke" jokes as residents of Fargo cope with the possibility that their town could be wiped out. Levity is important in times of crisis, especially jokes that makes fun of minorities. LOL, ladies and gentlemen!

Party leader Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina says that accepting federal money for schools is a form of child abuse. And party leader Bill O'Reilly says people who use the internet are child molesters. Just a hunch, but I bet the dedicated medical and mental health professionals who deal with actual child abuse and molestation cases every day might beg to differ. Probably with their middle finger.

Party leader Rep. John Boehner approved a GOP budget proposal that basically says, "Let's give the Bush plan another 50 years to work." He was too embarrassed to unveil it himself, so he sent out his second-stringers to twist in the wind.

Party leader Senator John Cornyn hopes that Minnesota continues to suffer the consequences of having only one sitting senator, and threatens to launch World War III if Al Franken is seated. He'll need a declaration of war from Congress for that, but I'm sure he's got the clout to push it through. The tricky part will be drawing the rest of the world into a global fisticuffs over a U.S. Senate seat.

Party leader Rep. Michelle Bachman puts words in the Treasury Secretary's mouth and then warns that America will cease to exist if he is allowed to do what he never considered doing in the first place. Got that?

And party leader Glenn Beck---who famously said, "[W]hen I see 9/11 victim's family, you know, on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up.' I'm so sick of them. Because they're always complaining"---continues to flog his "9/12" campaign which, as Stephen Colbert notes, "...is not for families directly affected by 9/11. Just people building their careers on it."

I used to wonder what a political party would be like if it consisted of all the crazy aunts and uncles people keep locked away in their basements and attics. Mystery solved.

Party leader Maxine Waters, party leader Nancy Pelosi, party leader Harry Reid, party leader Barney Frank, party leader Chris Dodd, party leader Joe Biden, party leader Ron Blogoyovich, party leader Reverend Wright, party leader Bill Ayers, party leader Jimmy Carter, party leader Chris Mathews, party leader Al Franken . . .
Should I go on? Talk about a ship of fools!

Despite all the sniping at Republican "characters", the FACT REMAINS, the achievers and job producers in New York are moving out. Why? Higher taxes. It will be interesting to see what happens to New York's tax revenue when there's no one left to tax.

Just finished reading a book by a pretty astute political observer-he must have been reading this blog:

"What we hear instead, not only in campaigns but on editorial pages,on bookstands,or in the ever-expanding BLOG universe, are deflections of criticism and assignment of blame. Depending on your tastes, our condition is the natural result of radical conservatism or perverse liberalism, Tom DeLay or Nancy Pelosi, big oil or greedy trial lawyers, religious zealots or gay acivists, Fox News or the New York Times..... the explanations of both the right and the left have become mirror images of each other...they are stories of conspiracy, of America being hijacked by an evil cabal...their purpose is not to persuade the other side but to keep their bases agitated and assured of the rightness of their respective causes-and lure just enough new adherents to beat the other side into submission."

Conservative author or liberal? You may be surprised..
