Eyes . . . Right!

Sully at the United States Air Force Academy

Chesley Bernard (Bernie, as we classmates called him) Sullenberger returned to our alma mater to receive the Jabara Award for flight safety. He's shown here reviewing the Cadet Wing at a parade held in his honor. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. He's a national hero and recently signed a multi-million dollar book deal with Harper Collins to tell his life story - not bad for a guy who essentially lost his retirement due to the bankruptcy of US Airways. But you know what? I still wouldn't trade places with him. Riding an Airbus 320 into the Hudson River is not how I'd want to ensure my future. Congrats once again to "Sully".
