He's out! (Again)

Press Secretary Gibbs said the Daschle withdrawal from consideration for HHS Secretary was strictly Daschle's decision. Which begs the question, "Had Daschle not withdrawn would Obama have continued to support him?" Gibbs would not answer that question. Apparently, based on previous statements by Obama, he continued to consider Daschle as uniquely qualified for the Cabinet position. The tax thing is obviously not a problem for Obama.

He should have pulled out during the vetting process when it turned out his accountant had not paid the limo tax-after Daschle had told him to take care of it last June!! The tax oversight is not as bad to me as all the ties he had to the health care industry...would be hard to have crediblity while pushing a new health care plan...but at least Obama said he "screwed up" today...took Bush almost 8 years to say something coherent about "mission accomplished!"

If you're going to keep bringing Bush up, I'm going to have keep bringing up "I did not have sex with that woman." In Bush's defense, however, he told us from day one after 9/11 it was going to be a long and difficult fight. As far as "mission accomplished" is concerned, Bush didn't put up the sign and didn't ask that it be put up. The mission (initial invasion of Iraq) WAS accomplished and quite successful I might add.

I think tax "oversights" are going to be the new nannygate. I'm sure if the Republicans were being vetted now, there would be a few oversights also. It just shows how convoluted and screwed up our tax system is. It should be "changed".

Daschle is a sleeze-ball and he's he best Obama could come up with? BO said on Monday he was completely behind him despite the crime of not paying taxes which tells me BO was forced to change his tune to an apologetic tune when Daschle withdrew. "I'm Sorry." That should be this nation's motto rather than "In God We Trust."
