Today is Veteran's Day. Serving our country has been a tradition in my family going back as far as I as have been able to trace. Yesterday I watched Air Force (my alma mater) beat Notre Dame. When they showed close-ups of these young football players I couldn't help but think how the mind set was so different between the two teams. The stars of Notre Dame University had rich contracts in the NFL to look forward to. The stars of the United States Air Force Academy are looking forward to putting their lives on the line in order to protect the freedoms of these future NFL stars. I couldn't help but wonder how much ( or even IF) that was appreciated by the typical college student in the stands at Notre Dame or anywhere. God Bless our Veterans - both present and future.

I'm not sure how many of the players for today's Notre Dame have NFL contracts, but Air Force is 8-3. How bout that?

My post was deleted by accident - I was in middle of it when Megan's tire blew that she was filling with air and forgot about the compressor running! Just wanted to thank you guys as well. Also there's a big difference between student athletes and athelete students
