Sports Illustrated and Kentucky Football

The Sports Illustrated College Football Preview Issue has nothing good to say about Kentucky football. It also has nothing bad to say about it. Sports Illustrated said absolutely nothing about Kentucky football. However, it does predict a conference record of 1-7, and an overall record of 4-8. It also predicts Georgia #1, LSU #9, and Tennessee #12. Disappointing. What say you, you experts on SEC football?

That's a cool picture of a forest fire on your front page.

The Cats should surprise some people this year, as long as their offense is halfway decent. The defense should be stout. It's going to take a few more years of sustained success to get respect on the national scene.

I was in Missoula, Montana today in a fly fishing shop. In walked a kid and said to the guy behind the counter with a noticeable Southern accent, "Hey I just got here from Kentucky and I'm lookin' for a good place to fly fish. Got any of those around here?" That was good for a laugh. The guys told him he came to the right place. Turns out he graduated from UK this spring and is starting on his Masters at the University of Montana in forestry and fishery management. He seemed to know a lot about fly fishing. And he was a big Coach G. fan. Didn't have any high hopes for the football season.
